I learned a valuable lesson today

When I posted about the new pattern Bev had, of course I had to print it out right away. Like I need any more patterns. LOL I started yesterday I think and was to the point of making the hood. Now what sound does a frog make?? Yep! Ripit ripit. Why? I'm glad you asked.

In the beginning of a knit in the round pattern, not sure about all of them but, some of them will say..when joining after cast on...make sure that the cast on stitches DO NOT TWIST. There is a very good reason why people write this. It is not to be ignored. I wish I had taken a pic of the cozy I was making but, during lunch today, I just frogged. This is one thing that you only want to do once. I thought that the stitches were straight and off I went. With 15" needles, this works up fast. Well..it would have if I did not have to fight with it to try and untwist the damn thing. Why keep going you ask? Who the hell knows! LOL I can't even say I was thinking that it would work itself out. I can't even say that if I started on the hood it would be ok. All I can honestly say is that I don't think I was thinking at all. I know to totally appreciate this, a pic would have said it better but, not being home, and not having a camera, I just went with the frog.

Needless to say, I will be starting the cozy over. I have never knitted in the round before. I always went with pattern and then sewed the seam. Also when I got to the hood, you're suppose to knit back and forth. Not in the round. So as I sat in my car, I said..how the hell am I suppose to do that on circular needles? Sigh! I ended up frogging it anyway because of the twist so I will not worry about that until the time comes. I think you have to switch to straight needles but, Bev didn't say that in the directions. I don't think.

I like Bev's directions and her patterns but, have found a couple of them that at some point didn't make sense to me.

I doubt that this will ever happen to me again but, if it does, I will post a pic. It was the strangest thing I ever saw in my life. LOL

May all of your projects be twist free. Your sanity will thank you for it.

Until next time...
Bunny

Ouch! It always hurts to have to frog.

I'm with ya on 2 counts there. Some of her patterns are confusing, and ...twisted knit. Been there, done that. Sometimes too you really can't see that you've twisted it until you've worked quite a few rows.. errrrrrrr

Good luck,
Sandy

Well Bunny, this post just confirms that I will never learn to knit. LOL I am so sorry that happened to you. Frogs are better on their lily pads and not your lap. *hugs*

Thank you so much for the link to the "Snuggles Project"

Have a beautiful weekend.
