Good news?

Not so much. Yesterday morning all of the engineers were let go. There were only 3. At 2pm, there were more let go. Just about everyone else. They are only keeping one person per dept. They will not be producing any more ceramic anything so they do not need people for that. They are just running out their inventory. No 2nd shift. Nothing. Yes...I was included in that. I was going to go to unemployment today but, 1) I didn't realize I needed to do laundry. Can't get dressed if you have nothing to wear. lol 2) I have to go back to the company tomorrow (Thursday) anyway and it's practically across the street so, if they ask, I am making my trips count. Gas may be down in price but, I'm not going to make any unnecessary trips. Especially being that close to each other. I'm sure they will understand. They probably won't even care. The company did offer me a severance package which I have to read and get back to them tomorrow. I will also get my check tomorrow instead of Friday, which will include the 2 days I worked this week. We will be ok though. We went through this 2 years ago and we made out ok. They always say..when one door closes, another one opens. I'm not sure what is in store for me now but, we'll see. One of the engineers worked with me at another company and took my phone number down. Noah (the #1 guy now) and my boss Steve, are going to write a letter of recommendation for me. That should help quite a bit. Another journey has just begun. I tried looking on line a little bit last night for jobs but, I think I needed to let it sink into my head that this is really happening.

Rachel asked me last night what I was going to do for dinner today and I said I wanted to try to make corn dogs. I printed out a recipe from the Food Network but, this morning I changed my mind. I will make my macaroni and cheese and get a loaf of Italian bread to go along with it. Total comfort food!

Well..seeing as it's going on 11am. I guess I better get going and dry my hair and get moving.

Have a wonderful day and

Until next time...
Bunny

Sorry to hear you were laid off. As you say, when one door closes, another one opens. I know that is small comfort, but here's some time to do things you've maybe been putting off? Good luck to you. I hope you find the perfect position that will make you happy.
