What I have been working on

The pattern is Bev's Newborn Baby Jacket. It is a very easy pattern to follow and works up fast. The pattern calls for sleeves which I did not put on but, still might do it.
The yarn I used: Caron One Pounder in Cream.
The hook I used: J. I always us a bigger hook than the label calls for.
Much to the delight of my family members who read my blog, I am really going to give it a valiant effort to stay away from Joann's and use the stash I have. I was off from work yesterday because I worked last Sunday. I had motive, I had opportunity, I had the means which to go up there but, I did not. I am going to go through and see just what I have. I know these little sweaters will be good for VNS of NY along with a hat if I have enough yarn for it. They want only 100% acrylic which is ok. I have plenty. Not sure how much of any one skein I have because, like most crafters, I do not throw out what is left from a project. It just gets put away.
Macuwita sni wants to use just wool or wool blends. That's fine, I have plenty of Wool-Ease. I was using the wool for The Bridge Project also for the warmth but, 100% acrylic is fine. I can always use a double strand if need be with a larger hook. I know it is mostly men so I will have to check and see if I have colors suitable.
Sandy has the right idea with the scarf she made from Vanna's Choice. We'll see what the future brings with my stash busting.
I am off this weekend. I will be making room for the elliptical machine I got. It should be arriving on Monday or whenever I set up a time for delivery. Free shipping! Good deal! Doug helped me pick it out. I can't wait to use it. I am so excited. :o)
Have a good weekend!
Until next time...

Beautiful baby jacket Bunny. I am like you and want to use up my stash before I buy anymore yarn. I am finding it very hard. LOL

I also love your mittens in the last post. Mine never come out the same size, just like sox for me too so I just don't make them.

Have a great weekend.

Stash bustin can be fun and allows for your creative juices to flow. Hope you have fun with your new toy. The jacket looks soft and pretty.

Congrats on your restraint...not going out and buying. I was very proud of myself a few days ago. I broke one crochet hook, think it was an I, which I use alot. I buy those packs of Susan Bates plastic hooks because they are soooooo smooth and light weight and bother my carpal tunnel, arthirtis etc. less than metal and larger hooks. I had to go to JoAnne's and though I lusted after the yarn, fingered the yarn...I truly walked out with just my purchase of a pack of hooks, with one extra single hook in the I size for good measure. It's hard I know, we're all in that boat.

Don't ya love making those sweaters? I just compared my printed pattern from Bundle of Love and Bev's and they are 98 the same. Though I love Bev's measurements and additional information. She writes things out so well for folks to understand, I'm gonna hop over and print her version. Her's looks to be a little larger too which I think is good.

Thanks for posting link,
Sandy
